Today I Got Into a Delay on the E Train

This morning I had an appointment with my dentist in Forest Hills.  I was finished by 9:30 and boarded the E train at Continental Avenue.  It move sluggishly until it got to Queens Plaza.  At that point it stopped for several minutes at each of the following stations:

• Court Square
• Lexington Avenue
• 5th Avenue
• 7th Avenue
• 50th Street
• 42nd Street

Finally the train arrived at 8th Avenue and 34th Street where I got off to get to NJ Transit.  What normally should have taken 25 min took almost 1 hour.  We constantly heard the recorded announcement “We are being delayed by train ahead”.

No matter what line or system you take, there are always delays.

 

Maybe Donald Trump Can Fix the Signals on the #7 Train

I got on the #7 Train at Times Square at about 5 PM.  I went one stop to 5th avenue and the conductor announced there were signal problems at Vernon-Jackson Avenue.  Here we go again.  I walked over to the 6th avenue line and took the M train to Queens as it was almost empty.  When I got to the 74th Street platform there were 5 people deep waiting for the 7 train.  I had to let one jam packed train go and then boarded the second local that came.  I got home about 30 minutes late.

President-elect Trump said he would spend about $1 trillion to fix the infrastructure in the USA.  Can at least a few dollars go to fix the signals on the 7 train?  I don’t know what to expect from him as he says one thing and then does the opposite.
